A First Floor Refresh, with Stripes!

We transformed this couple’s first floor with a clever layout and playful color and pattern creating a space where they can really feel at home.

When our clients came to us, they were struggling to pull together a cohesive first floor that reflected both of their design styles. They knew something felt off — they just couldn't quite put their finger on how to fix it. That's exactly the kind of creative interior design challenge we love.

We tackled this Cleveland home design project in stages. First, we worked through the existing layout to identify what was working and what wasn't — rearranging what they already had and pinpointing a few key pieces that would make the space function better. Then came the fun part: paint colors, bold pattern, and playful details that brought their personalities into the room in a way that felt intentional, not chaotic.

The result is a first floor that's as functional as it is fun — a space where two distinct design sensibilities meet in the middle and create something better than either of them imagined. New window coverings, updated lighting, and carefully chosen accessories pulled it all together. And yes, there are stripes — bold, confident, and exactly right for this couple.

This project is a good reminder that thoughtful interior design doesn't always mean starting from scratch. Sometimes the right layout, the right color, and the right eye for detail is all it takes to completely transform how a space feels — and how much you love coming home to it. That's what personalized home design in Cleveland looks like when it's done well.
